Back to Evelyn Parker

We have the joy and the pleasure to dedicate this little webpage to Evelyn, who supported the Greenham camps with all her good analyses and kind practices from the beginning right till the end.

"I don't think that the women would want [their struggle] to be portrayed as a 'peace women versus the warmongers' thing.* We can talk about Cruise missiles and show pictures of spray-painted silos, but for me the Greenham Common women were about more than that. They found a quite different way of living in a community together. It was a living, social thing. I don't think you'll see that in a museum." (Source: 1995 article external link)

Check out Evelyn's assessment, Greenham women succeeded

* More on women critical with the idea Evelyn mentions women wouldn't be happy with: michelle's Soy pacifista, no una mujer que pide la paz external link (I'm a feminist pacifist activist, not a peaceful Woman)
