What can we do here?
People are strange... = La gente es rara.
We don't use "the" here because we are talking about people in general and "people" is a plural.
Books/CDs/DVDs are expensive = Los libros son caros.
"Books" is a plural and we are talking about books in general.
Computers are useful = Los ordenadores son útiles.
We are talking about computers in general, and "computers" is a plural.
Can you think of other examples?
